About Your Hosts
Our journey together began seven years ago…
Met and Tara attended Yoga Teacher Training together back in 2015. They were paired together by their teacher even before they had met! It was meant to be, as they had very similar interests and have been very close friends ever since!
Shari and Met were introduced in 2016 by a mutual friend at a psychedelic meeting. They had so much in common and also hit it off! The collaboration began in 2020 when Tara organized a plant medicine training in Ecuador. This trip pushed them all out of their comfort zones, and through challenging and good times they came out the other side a lot more knowledgeable about plant medicine and with many gifts to share.
Met Salih is originally from the UK with a Turkish Cypriot background. At a young age, her ancestors taught her that by using prayer / intention, energy, plants, and herbs, one could heal oneself. This is where her curiosity and love for healing and transformation began. She has over 16 years of experience in energy work - Reiki and started Iridescence Healing in New Orleans back n 2013. She now works out of Fayetteville, GA and NOLA. In 2021, she began incorporating sound healing into her Reiki sessions. She uses quartz crystal bowls and other instruments to work with her clients on an emotional level to move energy with vibrational frequencies. She hosts monthly Crystal Reiki Sound Healing Journeys (Sound Baths).
Met’s love for yoga started in 2005, when she moved to LA and began training with Light at her local gym. He introduced and trained her in Transcendental Meditation, this was a pivotal time for Met. Light changed her life as she knew it and guided her on a whole new path of compassion, healing, and wellness. In 2010, she moved to New Orleans where she began assisting kids’ yoga classes for four years at Wild Lotus Yoga Studio. She then took her yoga teacher training in Hatha Yoga and became certified in Restorative and Kids Yoga.
In 2018, Met began working with plant medicines, and her experience was so incredibly life-changing that she decided to devote more time to becoming more knowledgeable about the plants. In 2021, she undertook a yearlong apprenticeship in Ecuador, to do just that! In 2021 whilst in Costa Rica, she received a clear message to start offering Cacao Ceremonies. Her love for dark chocolate was so immense that she took a training course in Cacao. She and her partner, Rich, have since started hosting mini transformational retreats of all types, to not only better themselves, but to assist in serving others too.
Met is extremely devoted to creating space for transformation, as she believes that peace and healing comes from within which can then spread to everyone and everything to create infinite love and light.
Dr. Shari Taylor is a somatic therapist practicing in New Orleans, LA. She employs methods drawn from humanistic, Jungian, transpersonal, and Eastern traditions. Using meditation, mindfulness exercises, yoga-inspired movement, breathwork, and other modalities, she helps her clients bridge the mind-body dichotomy. Her interests in yoga, meditation, and the transformative potential of expanded states of consciousness inform her style of practice.
Tara Loftis grew up in Arkansas and is currently based out of New Orleans, Louisiana, where she is a licensed realtor and a partner at her family’s real estate firm (reeserealtors.com). She has broad work and travel experience and has lived in the Dominican Republic, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Ecuador. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s & Gender Studies from Yale University and is certified in both Reiki and Yoga Teaching.
Her spiritual practice really took off after her introduction to Reiki in 2011, when she became certified in both first and second degrees. Her love affair with yoga began shortly after that also in 2011, when she moved to Australia and started living and working at Koru Yoga. Her travels eventually took her India, where she lived on an ashram. In India, she was certified in both Tantra and Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow. When she returned from her travels, she took a third teacher training at Wild Lotus Soul School in New Orleans, after which she opened her own yoga studio. She owned Nola Yoga Loft in New Orleans for five years.
In 2015, Tara was introduced to plant medicine ceremonies and soon after, she felt the call to further her connection to and involvement with these types of healing ceremonies. She went to Ecuador in 2021 to take a year-long course of study in making and serving ayahuasca and other plant medicines. She now helps coordinate and facilitate all different types of healing ceremonies.
All of these different spiritual practices have transformed her life, her physical body, her self-esteem, and her mental health. She is grateful for the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience with others, so that they too may cultivate more self-love, acceptance, and peace in their own lives. She truly believes in the age-old adage, "heal yourself and you heal the world."
